Jaclyn Breeze’s “Brass Quintet No. 6” is a riveting tour-de-force of energy and flash. Designed as a concert finale for an intermediate ensemble, the work offers excitement to each player in equal measure as to the audience. In this work, Breeze nods to her own signature compositional standard: that music should be fun to play, engaging to hear, and cleanly crafted.
